Science Investigations

In Science, Lower II were learning about friction and investigated the effects of friction by rolling a toy car over different surfaces. Children were measuring the height of the ramp before the car started moving. Children determined that there was more friction when the surfaces were rough and when the ramp was higher.

Form II had lots of fun demonstrating how particles act when in the three different states: solid, liquid and gas. This helped children to identify the particle arrangement, particle properties and material properties.

Form II had fun investigating whether gases had mass. They were testing how much carbon dioxide was present in 100ml of a selection of different fizzy drinks. Children then had to choose which drink should be taken to the party as the children wanted the fizziest!
